General Information:

This is a Belgian-built version of the Land Rover Minerva Series I, produced in collaboration between Land Rover (UK) and Minerva (Belgium) in the early 1950s.
Minerva was a well-known Belgian car manufacturer before World War II, famous for its luxury vehicles. After the war, the company shifted to producing military vehicles for the Belgian Army.
Following World War II, Belgium needed new military vehicles to replace aging army trucks. Instead of purchasing them from the UK, the Belgian government decided to manufacture them locally to support its domestic industry.
An agreement was reached between Land Rover and Minerva in 1951 to produce the Land Rover Series I under license from Rover.
Chassis and engines were shipped from the UK to Minerva’s Belgian factory, where the vehicles were assembled and modified slightly to meet Belgian military requirements. Production ran from 1952 to 1956, with an estimated 8,000–10,000 units built. These vehicles became a symbol of durability and off-road capability.
The partnership between Land Rover and Minerva ended in 1956. Minerva later attempted to produce its own independent version, but it was commercially unsuccessful, leading to the company’s closure.
Today, these vehicles are considered among the rarest classic Land Rovers, highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
